How Sordit brings AI Agents and people together to get work done

Sordit lets you build human involvement directly into your Jobs and Routines, or instruct AI Agents to ask for help only when certain situations arise. People can review, approve and contribute to work alongside AI Agents, without having to supervise every step.

1. When human involvement is part of the plan

Some business decisions should always be made by a person.

For example, imagine an AI Agent preparing a quotation for a customer.

  1. AI Agent: Reviews the customer’s requirements, calculates pricing and prepares a quotation.
  2. Sales Manager: Checks the quotation and either approves it or requests changes.
  3. AI Agent: Finalises the approved quotation.

The Sales Manager’s review is a planned Human Task. It happens every time the Job reaches that step, regardless of how confidently the Agent prepared the quotation.

If the manager requests changes, Sordit can send the work back to the Agent for revision.

2. When an Agent only asks for help if needed

You can also give an AI Agent explicit instructions about when to seek human assistance.

For example, you might ask an Agent to review customer orders and prepare them for fulfilment, with the following instruction:

Check each delivery address. If you can confidently verify or correct an issue using the available information, proceed. If an address remains unclear, ask the Operations Manager before continuing.

The Agent works through the orders independently. If every address can be verified, the Task finishes without involving anyone.

But if it encounters an address it cannot resolve, Sordit creates a Human Task asking the Operations Manager for clarification.

The Agent’s work pauses while it waits for a response. Once the manager provides the correct information, the Agent resumes the same Task and continues processing.

3. When something prevents an Agent from continuing

Sordit can also request human attention when an operational issue needs to be resolved.

Examples include:

  • Missing business connection: An Agent needs access to a business tool that hasn’t been connected or needs reconnecting. Sordit asks the relevant account owner to authorise the connection before the Agent continues.
  • Insufficient Sordit Credits: When a workspace runs out of Credits, affected Agent execution pauses, new paid work cannot proceed, and Routine events are held until Credits are added. Eligible work can then resume.
  • AI provider usage limits: If an AI provider’s account runs out of available usage or credits, the affected Task pauses for a person to resolve the issue and decide whether to restart or cancel it.
  • Agent execution failure: If an Agent encounters a failure it cannot recover from, Sordit can request human review. The person can examine what happened and decide whether to restart the Task, including with another available Agent where supported.

These are different from planned business approvals. They allow the appropriate person to address an issue without requiring someone to continuously monitor every Agent.

One team, with AI Agents and people working together

As AI Agents take on more operational responsibilities, the way businesses organise work is changing.

Sordit is designed as an operating system for this evolving workforce, where people and AI Agents work together through shared Jobs and Routines.

People can remain responsible for important decisions and approvals, while AI Agents handle work they can complete independently. When assistance is needed, Sordit brings the appropriate person into the process and supports the continuation of work afterwards.

This allows businesses to organise work around responsibilities and outcomes, rather than treating AI as a separate tool that people must constantly supervise.
